God a while ago I had a faint sliver of an idea. ‘What if the protege au got mixed in with time-travel. How would that work? What could I potentially do with that?’ I was a cool idea, but I couldn’t really figure out how on earth I would execute it without messing the whole thing up. This. This story is exactly what I imagined if someone were to combine the two ideas and man did you do it perfectly. There’s a layer mystery behind the from-the-future duo and the story has an actual plot and not just a one-shot scenario, which I really appreciate. Everything is great and I love it so much. The characters especially. The character portrayal of everyone is on point and really works. I also especially love the future duo. Tubbo/Toby is much bolder and more confident than his younger self, but still has aura of nervousness and compassion. He still feels like Tubbo, just older and with more responsibility.Tommy/Theo on the other hand is a very different person then his counterpart. Which makes sense. I currently don’t know how you have written the timeline, but if I had to guess, Wilbur and Tommy spend at least 2 years exiled together before the War for L’Manberg. And after that Tommy was in exile for how many years before he officially joined Dream. During both times exiled, Tommy was abused horrendously, first by Wilbur, then Dream. It’s no wonder that he is so different. But Tommy is stubborn. And because Toby and Theo showed up right before things really went to shit, all the things that turned Tommy into Theo never will happen. So I think that Tommy is really going to resent Theo and promise to never be him. And there’s strong chance that he won’t. Anyway, I think that’s all I got. I’m really looking forward to see what you have in store for us next. Again, amazing story. Keep it up!!! <3333

I really like Ghostburs character in this story! In canon we see him as a character with no memory’s of his bad actions, with him not having to take any responsibility for said actions either (which low-key annoyed me tbh), but here we have a Ghostbur who’s definitely visibly off the rails, having regained memories of his actions, and others being wary and trying to calm his actions while not only keeping an eye out and supporting Wilbur himself. Also Schlatts characters really cool too, seein him show regret for what his future self did is really nice to see! God I love this fic!!

I read the description of the story and instantly realized how similar it was to the fanfic I'm writing! Tommy and Tubbo time travel back to the election? Me too! There's a couple of differences and I just started mine recently but I swear I didn't know this existed! I haven't read the entire thing yet but it looks interesting and the beginning is just so close with mine that it's both cool and terrifying!

I'm a dozen chapters in and i honestly can't continue, i usually can read stories with abuse in it only if i know that the abuser is punished or if they face the consequences of their action, but here the story doesn't do that, quite the opposite in fact, here the story seems to excuse, forgive or even condone the abuser actions, and the fact that future tommy's stockholm syndrome is being enabled and fueled constantly is just horrifting.
