Hi! So I love this story, like its really good and yeah. Anyway, it's inspired me and I was hoping for your permission to write and publish a story inspired by this one..? I'll credit this one of course and yeah but I'm honestly inspired and really want to write something kinda sorta like this. If it's okay I'd like to use the virus you created for this as well..and I want to use this story as the loose guide for the meet/join pack scene of the story.. So may I? Like I said I'll credit you, I'll mention the story and post a link to it. Also I am not going to exactly copy anything, but I will likely end up with a scene obviously based on this one... If you say no then of course I'll respect that, you are the original so I'll respect your wishes.

Hey there.The story is like a sneak peek of something bigger. I mean it's really enjoyable and the characters already start to get proper outlines in my head. I love this story. I must have read it five or six times in the past few days. I would buy this story if you wrote and published it. You really managed to paint a picture of the world and add enough world-building that it was all understandable without being too wordy or taking time away from the characters. I liked the concept of babels; it was a really creative way to allow for miscommunication between Max and the pack. I hope you decide to continue writing.

Is it greedy to want more? Feel like Oliver Twist...but no gruel please...more story instead? I'm subscribing so you know if you wanted to write more I'd read it... Great world building btw. I love this :) I love misunderstandings esp about potential hurt/comfort and a virus that affects speech makes for both an amazing idea and a very useful miscommunication device. Aside from that it was refreshing to see how Max has only the body langugae and tone of voice to go on and react while we readers also know what is actually being said. So what I'm trying to say is while this kind of writing is definitely something of a kink/id fic for me it's also an ingenious literary method with actual literary value and I could read 20k of it easily. Any chance of a sequel?

I have read, and re-read, and then re-read a few more times. I absolutely love this story. You're writing style is excellent and so is your ability to set up a scene. I became immersed immediately, and left wanting more despite the hopeful ending. I would love to see a full, multi-chaptered work based around this; one that covers Max's adjustment to pack life and his previous life too. The virus is intriguing, a kind of blend between zombies and the disease featured in The Darkest Minds that alters children. I think it's excellent, and would be worth diving further into. Overall, you have done an amazing job on this, and I hope more is on the way. (Also, I'm exceedingly frustrated that this is posted under anonymous so I can't find more of your works to read)

I'd love to read more of this story. This was written in a way that really made me feel like I was part of the world, it sucks you in. A+I'm just sad it's anonymous.

Oh wow, I loved this! The babel concept was super fascinating and really gave Max some added vulnerability - I liked how you did all the italic dialogue so we as readers still had the context of what was going on, even while knowing Max couldn't rely on that. Poor kid ;______;

It makes me angry thinking about how I'll never see the rest of this universe. I have so many questions that I'll never have answers to. What was Mac's life like before the apocalypse? What exactly does the virus do, because surely this isn't the extent of it, it isn't dangerous enough? Can't believe you'd leave us hanging like this, man.

Oh man this story is heartbreaking, but beautiful, and so well done !! I’m in love with these characters, and the world you’ve built around them. Each character is really pronounced, and idk how you did it within 7500 words, but everyone feels like they have life and history. You are an incredible story teller and I am astounded. And I’m so so intrigued!! The whole concept is really unique! The virus, the apocalypse, how everyone ended up where they are now? What’s going to happen in the future?! I’m so interested and I have so many questions!! I’ve already read through this twice since I found it this morning,and it’s not even 9 O’clock yet. So I can tell you now, I’m gonna be thinking about this for weeks ugh.If you ever decided to write more on this, I’d be on that like hot bread. This was such a great fic, and I instantly fell in love with all the characters and would love reading more about them. But it was very well constructed for a stand alone piece too. The tension was real, the characters' dynamics and personalities came through, and I liked how you did it with Max not being able to understand but including the dialogue for the reader.

This was great. The Babel virus made this really interesting, as a device to ratchet up the stress and worry for Max.Would LOVE to read more in thos world

I jad a cravingfor a nice mix of angsty miscommunication feelings with a healthy dose of 'a character a afraid of another but it's notactually in danger of being hurt but doesn't know that' and it's so hard to find, it's not something to tag, so your fic is a literal godsent <3
