This was so incredible. I could not for the life of me figure out who may have written it, but now that I know, I am going to be stalking your catalogue tout suite!

OK, I might sound like I've lost it here, but I just spent the last several hours disappearing into this story and am on something of a high. You made me yearn for what Harry has when he's doing what he's meant to, using his innate gifts to contribute and create. I was really taken by how you got him choosing what his next step should be (or, rather, how it chooses him if he just lets himself be guided). I jotted down some words here and there every time I came across something where I just couldn't not do so. Here they be: RAW, moving, wrenching. Huh. Doesn't sound like a fun read, does it? But, see, those are good things.Frankly, the character development was indcandescent. You use words as magic (pun intended), masterfully using language as a means to convey spirt and meaning, not just information and concepts. And the detailed world-building ..... Jeez. You may have blown JKR out of the water with this. I think I need a flow chart to keep track of the alchemy stuff!Ummm, right. 'Nuff said, I think. I raise my hot chocolate to you (since I don't have a hat to doff).

I love this. You have gotten the voices perfect. I love the way Harry and Draco develop in this story. You dealt with the post-series problems in the best way I have seen. Dark Lady and Lavender's cooking! I have a ridiculously small problem with it: you don't really deal with Flannel and his experience. There was no exploration of the impacts on the previous users or discussion over whether eternal life is all it is cracked up to be. After all, for Harry death has the potential of loved ones and peace. It would have been just icing on the cake, and I love the story regardless.I am really sorry if you have addressed this later on or somewhere else. I am off to read the next in the series. I'm on my second read through, but I decided not to comment the first time around because the quality of the fic, combined with first-timey hysteria, would have resulted in incoherent and novel-length comments.Anyway, I love the way you set this up--Harry's thoughts on Ron and the end of their "platonic marriage" aren't just funny, they are so true to Harry and his concern for Ron's confidence.Harry getting a boggart-induced semi is also a high point for me.

This was so very, very amazing! I loved Harry's cutesy thought process and Draco's snark and I have so many good things to say about it, but I wish I had understood the chemistry part of it since you equated so much of it to their relationship. If you get the time do you mind writing out the seven steps, the requirements, how it imitated Harry and Draco's relationship in that moment, and how Harry and Draco tackled the steps in simple(r) English for dumbfucks like me? I didn't understand how Death was Azoth and why the Fiendfyre was used etc. Sorry, hope it isn't too much trouble. But jfc great fic. So many parts that I absolutely adored! Harry's gone Christmas shopping like: (He’d have go to muggle London for Mr Weasley, who he’d recently decided definitely needed a PlayStation and that new Dance Dance Revolution game. It was more a gift for Harry, really, since he desperately wanted to watch Mr Weasley playing it.)Or the monologue: (Since Snape didn’t have family colours, he got to choose Harry’s robes, and he’d chosen…black.At least it had the fitted chest and fell loose about the legs like the robes Snape always favoured. It practically screamed brooding Potions Master, which Harry suspected could be rather sexy in the right hands. He was determined to be those right hands. Later on, in his rooms, he was going to try that billowing thing Snape used to do. There was probably a spell involved.)*guffawing ensues* Concerning Harry's inability to do wandless magic unless it is instinctual:("Doesn’t really do me much good if I can’t do it when I want to do it.”“But you do. You do it when you have a need for it. I’ve seen you.”“So you said, but…what’s the point if I can’t depend on it?”“If you can do it when you aren’t thinking about it, then you’ll just have to practise it without thinking about it.”Harry snorted. “Brilliant, Malfoy.”“Shouldn’t be too difficult for you. It’s how you made it through school so far, isn’t it?")Draco's wit! Or the part where Harry asks why Draco wasn't named Tom or Daniel! Fourth wall = crashing down. Brilliant writing; my chest would ache at Harry's acceptance of Draco's unhappiness at the thought of being loved. I loved it, but I wish I'd understood it better. Please see if you have the time to spell it out for me :) I really wanted to enjoy the fic to the fullest.

That was bloody brilliant. I'm not one to throw around the word perfect too often when it comes to stories, but I'm thinking this fic might just be perfect. Definitely weep worthy. This looks interesting. I love how you're writing Ron's character here. I think it gives him some sort of justice because he's always portrayed (in the movies) as Harry's sidekick. He's more than that. He's a best friend, soul mate, and the man who understands him the most. Shame that they're not in Hogwarts together. Oh, well.

the first time i read this, it was around this time last year i think, and i was blown away by how absolutely fucking amazing it is. now a year later, i think back to this fic and it's literally the only thing i remember reading from 2014, like it's just that good. man, i honestly love everything about this so so so much. the characterizations, the plot, the mother effing research too man! everyone is just. so in character. like, it makes me weep how much i honestly love this. i love the world building and the freaking concept of your boggart and what you see in erised being the same thing! such a genius idea!!!! in a year since, i have yet to read a fic that has affected me/changed me and just! made me cry as much as this one did!!!! it remains the BEST fanwork (across all my fandoms) that i have ever read!!! honestly!!! thank you So SO SO much for sharing this!!!! this message is so ramble-y im so sorry, but i just had to say how much i love this thank you so much aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh

This, my good author, is certainly one of the best, if not the best fanfiction i have ever, in my life, read. I love the plot itself and its twists, i absolutely ADORED all the research and academic work and connections being established in the various fields of magic you explore, i loved how you wrote the characters and all of their interactions, i loved the romance (i apologize that, since iusually skip smutty scenes due to personal reasons, i can't really give an opinion on those, but im sure they're brilliant as well) and in short i loved, well. absolutely everything. You deserve infinite kudos for this!!(and special kudos for having a portuguese character! Being portuguese myself, i actually squealed when Miguela was introduced)

I may or may not (spoiler: i did) read this in one sitting in the middle of the night. It's bloody fantastic and I thank you for writing such a wonderful story.

I love how deeply you delved into the technicalities of potion-making and alchemy. I personally don't enjoy reading 88k words of Harry pining (or just pining in general, because I am impatient LOL), but your characterisation of Draco was fascinating, and the development of Harry and Draco's relationship overall was interesting and engaging. Also, Prof McGonagall is amazing. I really enjoyed this fic. Thanks for sharing it!

I finished this yesterday, and I'm still thinking about how great this was. The slow burn was PERFECT. It wasn't too agonizing, which sometimes turns me off. I love how you gave Draco the fear of being caged, because I think that is completely in character, especially after the war. Brilliant job!

This is in all honesty the best fanfiction I have ever read. And I'm not kidding. I actually read every single word and didn't feel compelled to skip to the next dialogue. Wow.

This fic shows so many believable (canon-compliant?) things about this world that that's magic in itself! It complements canon and opens up new possibilities that Rowling hasn't. The use of Arithmancy, the art of Potions, the wandless magic, the Room of Requirement still burning, Ron without Harry and Harry without him, Hermione swearing, Millicent as smart, Lavender as strong... I could go on and on, but now you must get what I liked about it so much. And the cleverness! Alchemy and chemistry and potions! (Have you studied chemistry?) It went straight to my favourites and I'll be on the lookout for other fics from you. Thank you for this uplifting story!

I'm thinking that they showed Harry that his greatest desire and worst fear are both simply being normal. It's sort of what he's always wanted, but he doesn't know what to do with normal. It could also signify being on his own, but that doesn't quite make as much sense :-)

You write like a genius and the topics matter to me a lot.

This is a work of perfection. The way Harry was able to make connections between the processes of the stone and his relationship with Draco was my favorite thing about it, really well crafted.!!

Ahh, getting lost in this fic for a few days was just so wonderful. One of those where I'm racing through it, but not wanting it to ever end. So much comedy gold, but then ALL THE PINING. So so sexy when they first kiss, and then so so sad when Draco leaves, it broke my heart. I loved Harry's reckless undertaking of the potions apprenticeship and that even Snape grudgingly comes around too. I can't really do justice to all the feels I had when reading this, but thank you so much for this fic! Looking forward to a reread soon.

It seems a bit silly to be commenting on the first chapter of a three-year-old fic, but I just wanted to say that this has already really grabbed me and I'm super excited that there are thirteen more chapters left. I love that you've got Harry and Ron drifting apart, and that Harry and Ginny and Ron and Hermione have broken up -- it feels like a really honest and realistic take on what their eighth year could have looked like. I'm looking forward to reading the rest!

i don't know how many times i've read this story but it's still so heartbreaking to read the first chapter every time. you've really captured ron and hermione and harry so well here, and the way they've changed after the war really hurts. this line "A scuffling sound caught their attention, and they jumped as if they were still third years, out with the Map and no common sense. Hermione giggled, and slapped her hand over her mouth, eyes wide. Why did things have to change? Harry wondered. In moments like this, he remembered the magic and novelty of Hogwarts, and how it had always felt like home. The only place that had felt like home." was so nostalgic and ugh your writing is so beautiful!
