I liked this first chapter, I liked how you described this Kingdom, the culture and traditions of this Kingdom, it's a dark story right? The horrible and cruel traditions of the Kingdom, I liked to know more about this scenario, as you described Leander and his brothers, he did not want to say goodbye to Kaldir, but he was scared, I loved the tension in this chapter, the intrigue in the castle, the desperate escape, Leander's confused feelings. I'm curious about what will happen

Oh wow. This is the best story I've readon ao3 in months! Leander is resilient and smart even if not physically strong. The tension in his relationship with Kaldir throws off the page. You are an amazing writer. I'm glad he is going through with the sundering of the bond. I think shit is about to hit the fan! Looking forward to the next chapter!

What kind of sane mind decides pitting their kids against each other is a good way to find the best king among them?? The founding fathers of the kingdom were wrong in the head, man.Oh, but if you don't mind a couple of questions: what was King Niam's magick (besides abusive and neglectful parenting, that is)? And were the twins supposed to kill each other, too, or was their case different since they were, you know, twins?

I like the tension in the characters and the plot, the atmosphere of the story, Leander is scared and very worried, he couldn't stop thinking about his brother, he wanted to see Kaldir, to know if he was alive, he made a stupid decision, right? Their conversation in the room, as Kaldir was able to see him, Kaldir wants the brother back, him does not care about the consequences, that Leander belongs to him! I wonder the consequences because of what Leander did

He was helpless against the need other than to obey it" I'm sorry, did Kaldir go to Leander's room to cast long range compulsion that would lead to Leander coming back to visit in astral form??? Since he was painted and standing in the middle of the room with his eyes closed like a serial killer and his voice held its own compulsion magic??? Also, did Kaldir just like... expect Leander to know he meant no harm by sending his captain of the guard after him in this environment? Without saying a single thing? You did such a great job of building the atmosphere and really making the stakes palpable, but I had to laugh at how Kaldir was coming off as kind of delusional XD great job on this chapter, and im looking forward to the next one!

The way Leander was compelled to contact Kaldir and the fact that Kaldir was at Leander's chambers that time makes me suspicious. I dont think curiosity was the only reason why Leander sought the castle out. Hmmm...what can it be🤔🤔🤔I like Kaldir's shadowy character. It's really hard to get a read on the man. Leander is really sweet and I truly care so much abt him. I do hope he doesn't get hurt❤

The scene where Leander arrives in his room and sees everything unchanged is so powerful to me. Really, it just says so much about Kaldir already - "like a shrine". A place where the symbols of your devotion are placed. Until Leander returns, this is a sacred place, and its most passionate devotee is already there, calling; praying, even.Although... really, Kaldir? "Why did you run from me?" I don't know, dude, maybe because there's a whole battle royale going on for the throne, and by law it only ends when all but one of the heirs are murdered? Like... c'mon, boy, be sensible 🙄

Oh I do live this chapter. The mood and atmosphere is so heavy. While Kaldirs ulterior motives are still hidden you can get a sense he's a relentless man and poor Leandro has fallen into his trap. I wonder how the story will progress. Also personally want the 3rd brother to live. Just to see what happens 🤩

Now I'm curious about the connection between Leander and Kaldir, about how Kaldir was able to see and touch him? I wonder if their souls are really connected? Leander was very naive, it was cute how he fell in love with Sacha, how Leander was shy and obviously in love with the boy, but the kiss, him being caught by Kaldir! The way Kaldir reacted, how he looked very angry, his face, Leander scared, he never saw his brother like that, the next day Sacha left for another job, the boy was obviously murdered by Kaldir! As Kaldir should be jealous, and being possessive, I wonder how Leander will react if he knows where Sasha is?

Oh the net is closing in on poor Leander. I hope Torin will be okay as he doesn't seem to be the type to let Leander go without a fight!

Also, in the first chapter Leander has to control his magic when he is first woken up by Torin. Is Leander hiding a second magical aptitude? Or am I just over thinking this?Either way can't wait until the next chapter. Hm, so Torin knows Kaldir seems a bit more interested on Leander than decorum would allow, although he tries not to think about it. Makes me wonder who else around the castle noticed, too... not that it would make any difference, mind you, what would they even be able to do, anyway? No one wants to be on Kaldir's bad side, and for a good reason, it seems.And awn, poor Leander. First crush ended up being a traumatic experience because of a jealous big brother. At least Sacha got out alive ... I think? Maybe. Probably physically and emotionally scarred, but alive. Which is a huge thing, all things considered.
