I love this! And while it is a complete betrayal, I love that it is unhidden, reasonable, and Everyone is just swept along (Harry, Ron, Hermione, Neville, Luna, even Kingsley). Kingsley's response is reasonable, he verifies and while Machiavellian and probably not morally correct, I can see why he chose to act that way. Similarly, Ginny is still in shell shock and probably traumatized at the idea of Toms soul being in someone else. For her it was a true possession and I cant imagine she can think rationally about it if there is no way to remove the possessor from some one else...I am actually somewhat surprised teenage tom riddle doesn't remember Harry...maybe his appearance changed quite a bit from his 12 year old self and Tom didn't register the passing time in deaths realm?I am glad that you will stick close to cannon characters as I think it is fascinating. I am particularly intrigued by how toms personality will mutate once adult tom and teen tom and all various toms are combined. Whatever will he think of sharing a soul?! I mean canonically speaking, I can't imagine he shares well... All this just to say, I am really excited to see where this one goes!

I am an absolute fan of the time-travel trope (I spent the last week going through the tags for it)! To see this, with no attempts to make it seem like people were hiding it or really trying to betray Harry, it makes me very optimistic to read more. I know that truly the only betrayal comes from Dumbledore, and even then it was a war leader ensuring that the enemy couldn’t return, and he would have no way of knowing that Harry would return unchanged. For all he knew, Harry could have done a complete 180 due to Tom’s soul!Sorry for the rant, it’s easier to collect my thoughts when I write them out. I look forward to seeing more!

Wow I love this! It’s managing to subvert all the cliche’s of time travel fanfic and is so satisfying to read. I’m glad that you managed to make Harry experience the awful betrayal of his friends while still keeping Ron and Hermione in character. So many fanfics make them evil, selfish people that have been conning Harry for years when that’s just not true. I love that Tom also got his memories back alongside Harry. It’s a really unique twist and I look forward to reading more!!!

As realistic and understandable as Hermione and Ron reaction were, Luna and Neville were still the best.I greatly appreciated Harry musing about Voldemort, Tom, himself and what the world deserved. He truly knew himself and was thinking things throught, I loved this insight into his character, it showed both his strenght and his kindness.

First chapter, and I'm already hooked. Damn, that was really interesting and quite the unique take.

Your notes said there would be no character bashing, yet your first chapter sees harry's friends and allies turning on him, sentencing him to death. If your goal was to destroy Harry's loyalty to his friends and the 'light side', in order to make a future union between Harry and Voldemort seem plausible, you succeed. But there are other methods to achieve this same outcome. The true traitor in this is Dumbledore, lying to Harry for so long, manipulating him 'for the greater good', basically planning to have him killed. Having Harry choose not to support/follow Dumbledore any more, and having Harry plan to exact some form of (much deserved) revenge on dumbledore, would naturally drive a wedge Harry and his friends. Lacking the information/experience of Dumbledore's betrayal, enraptured by stories of Dumbledore's greatness, sharing the same political/social beliefs of their families, abhorring the beliefs/actions of Voldemort and his followers, unable to understand Harry's own neutrality, would have said friends naturally turning against him (Harry).This is NOT a criticism of your entire story, and I'm going to keep reading because I'm interested in what you plan to have Harry do next, just my honest opinion.
