Great story, worldbuilding, and characterization. I also hope the inspiration strikes for a continuation one day, especially thinking about other humans having survived and encountered other jeruns or Yllar otherwise being forced to face exactly what he's doing, but really am just glad to have gotten this wonderful piece as it is.The fleeting moment of self-awareness that Yllar has where he almost grapples with the knowledge that what he's doing is shameful and that maybe the others find him to be a weirdo and pervert because they can tell he's the type to reduce a sentient being to a sex object, but eventually brushes it off as them not understanding him and later telling himself that he's better off with a creature that can't insult or criticize him is so frustratingly believable. His internal slip-up early in the story where decides the human must regularly use its vulnerability to seduce large predators and he may only be one of many it's seduced is great foreshadowing of Yllar's true mentality and how far off the deep end he's about to go, even as he tells himself it's all for the human's good.
