This was through and through charming and I smiled the whole time while reading it. Soulmate AUs are my guilty pleasure and I engage in it as often as possible, but the idea of fingerprints left on your soulmate is a first to me which is another reason why I love this paticular one-shot so much. Anyway I noticed that Draco drops his bag twice in succession without ever picking it up in between the two drops and thought I'd point it out.1)Draco dropped his bag on the floor, marched up to him and grabbed his wrist, rolling Potter’s sleeve up to the elbow.2)Draco’s bag hit the floor, tipping onto its side in a slumped daze, but Draco couldn’t really care less at this point, because every point of skin to skin contact was blazing warm and he reached up like he’d wanted to for ages and swept pale fingers into Potter’s dark hair, slanting their mouths together and bloody fucking hell, he could stand here and kiss Harry fucking Potter for years.Maybe you meant that it just tipped over the second time, but it kinda reads like it was dropped twice. Maybe if you said it "Draco's bag tipped onto its side, hitting the floor in a slumped daze" or "Draco's bag tipped onto its side, spilling its contents onto the floor" it would be less confusing (or maybe I'm the only one who felt that way). They are just suggestion and it's perfectly fine to ignore them and I hope I haven't annoyed you too much with them. Nevertheless I love this.

This fic is very good and pure and I'm happy it exists. Also, now I'm thinking about this particular system of soulmate identification in far too much detail. Draco writes his own name on Harry's arm in cursive. I just... so dramatic, Draco. I would draw a smiley face or a heart or maybe a snake if I were trying to confirm my soulmate. Or... you know... just touch them lightly and see if it leaves a mark. Instead of Draco just showing Harry the marks on his wrist he goes and writes his own first name in cursive. I love it. Now I'm imagining artistic soulmates doing soulmark art. Getting tattoos of your soulmate's handprint or something. This is great.
