I read a lot of foster SBI AU and yours is original. I don't like it when the character is too abused to be believable or too jumpy while he wasn't that traumatized. Yours seems realistic idk if you know the foster care from someone but I'm very excited about your fic. You managed to make it your own while this trope is worn off so congrats

I really appreciate this being written accurate to real-world neurodivert kids in foster care. I don't feel angry when a fic is obviously written by someone who's never experienced foster care (or whatever other social issue), but it's just comforting to feel Understood. Especially Tommy just agreeing to move on. That really hit hard, and I remember doing the exact same. The way he handles his confusion is so particular but important, prioritizing certain things, the conclusions he draws, the open but hesitant attitude. It's clear a lot of attention went into his inner thoughts, and I wanted you to know it really pays off in putting the reader inside his head!I rarely comment on works, but I wanted to let you know it's given me some comfort :)
