Such an awesome start to the story! Lambert and co are definitely not what Milena expected, but she needs some time to learn! I speak a little Welsh, and I know people who speak more, so if you ever need any help, feel free to hit me up here or on discord (i'm Merry there) ;) If i don't know i know where to find out! But for a start, "my brother" translates correctly to "fy mrawd", not brawd, because Welsh does weird things with consonants at the beginnings of words after some other words (it's called mutations and it's also why you get "brawd bach" but "cath fach"). everything else seems fine tho ;)

It’s started! So incredibly excited!I’m glad this chapter was from Milena’s point of view; it’s fascinating seeing her thoughts on the wolfblood verses what we readers readers know about witchers. Like how Lambert’s frowning when she “taps her hands together near-silently in time” is likely more at the fact she’s keeping her enjoyment so silent-if it’s anything to do with the dancing at all- than her enjoyment of other Witcher’s prowess. He’s undoubtedly dismayed when she stops clapping and tenses back up when she’d started to relax before. Gweld, realizing Milena knows nothing really should have been a hint to give her some information, not to say “you’ll learn” and ignore her as much as Lambert for the rest of the meal! At least Lambert did tell her about the Lord thing after they reached their quarters. Really internalizing that witchers don’t do nobility is going to throw Milena for a while…I really adore Lambert’s frank conversation here at the end and his quickness to bloody himself with the vow to never hurt Milena. This assurance helping throw off all her expectations-just like the good food and the books- will only make things better. The fact that the summery implies that Lambert is mourning Aiden leaves me with questions with so many questions (what happened? Where’s Aiden now? How will he react to learning Lambert’s married for a treaty? How is Lambert coping? Etc.) I know we’ll get answers eventually, but I’m going to start speculating now…Well written and great read!

This trope is one of my favourites ever and so getting such a delightful long fic from you full of it once more is absolutely the best holiday gift ever. I love Milena's observations the whole time, and how the staff and wolves all interact and react around her. It will be so interesting to see how this progresses and I look forward to every update!

Ohhh poor Lambert, he’s stuck quite firmly between a rock and a hard place, isn’t he? He doesn’t know how to process emotion other than to be an ass about it, so he’s angry that he’s being saddled with a noblewoman, and he’s angry that she’s so frightened of him, and he’s angry that he keeps scaring her even when he’s trying to be nice, and Milena is just BEWILDERED about all of this. The miscommunication and angst is delicious. The only thing that could make this better is the eventual addition of a foppish doe eyed bard with a spine of steel and zero self preservation instinct.
