Something about the fact that growing free food is illegal- and that Dream is the leader of the superheroes, but so willing to cut off pay when hard (if not impossible tasks) aren't completed- makes me think that the "heroes" in this story won't be.

SO. i binge read this from start to finish last night and wow, holy shit, this fic is great and I am having a great time. instead of initiating usual protocol (ie dumping a big review on the most recent chapter and then rereading the whole damn thing until next chapter goes up), i wanted to go thru and post a review on each chap bc each one introduces some really cool stuff and i wanna be able to touch on it all!!!so first chapter!! i Love started in media res so i might be biased but the fight scene at the start is so fun. also CHICKENINNIT!! i can't tell you how much i appreciate chickeninnit being his superhero powers like i find it really funny that everyone else later on has really insane, OTT powers and he just. floats. on a more ~literary analysis~ note it points to how he IS smart and able to strategise, and also how determined he is, especially with his great escape here. you can see the "quick wit, stubbornness and dumb luck" before you even need to spell it out in the narration it really Adds to it all yknowi love wilbur being all talk without actually being able to (or intending to, judging by later chaps lol) carry out his increasingly gory threats lol. also i love that he has the kinda siren powers but also they're able to affect the environment around him? that's so cool. the blade and avian philza are just Classics naturally love their banter here (also side note tommy mentioning that techno once /could/ have gotten him with a blade but didn't "for some unknown reason"...villains with decent morals SBI i see and appreciate you)also LOVE the bit with dream like. the aside about how tommy is quiet around him, despite not being a quiet person...contrasted with how snippy he is with SBI, even though he believes he's in mortal peril around them......Hmm. Hmm, y'all. also Wow not only are you extorting actual teenagers by having them fight crime you're cutting off their income jesus dude what an assholealso love a community garden like Yes mutual aid am I right
